Meet Shellye Archambeau! Shellye was the first Black female CEO of Silicon Valley. Her help in pushing the software company MetricStream forward garnered national recognition and earned her a place in the top 10 of the “Deloitte Technology Fast 50”. Shellye’s fame in the business world didn’t stop there; she was later named a global leader in GRC after leading firms for nine years.

She’s since used her immense knowledge to co-author “Marketing That Works: How Entrepreneurial Marketing Can Add Sustainable Profits to Any Sized Company” and to write Unapologetically Ambitious: Take Risks, Break Barriers, and Create Success on Your Own Terms, guiding young professionals to achieve success in the workplace.

In 2021, we honored her with a Star Award for breaking down barriers for women in business and for constantly using her voice to inspire others.

I believe every girl deserves to be ambitious and go after their goals. When I was young I had low self-esteem and didn’t care very much about myself. Fortunately, I had strong parents and very impactful teachers that made me realize that I actually do have a future and I could do whatever I wanted as long as I was willing to be intentional, work hard, make the right choices, and take help from others.”
