Elisa’s solidified her place in fans hearts, when she originated the role of the fiesty fashion victim Amber in the pop culture classic Paramount Pictures feature-film Clueless (1995). She's since gone on to play Amber for three seasons in the follow-up television series, followed by three seasons of the ABC/WB TV-series Sabrina The Teenage Witch (playing Morgan Cavanaugh), with recurring roles on Beverly Hills 90210, Judging Amy and Jack & Jill. Among many film roles, she was notably featured alongside Will Ferrell in another comedy classic feature film, A Night At The Roxbury.

Elisa was just voted “Reader/Fan Favorite” by People magazine (Sept. 2013) for her celebrity Mommy Blog she writes for ( Elisa was also hand-picked by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg to be the voice for the audiobook of her #1 bestselling book Lean In (2013) and
Lean In For Graduates (2014). Donovan writes about the experience here:

In addition to her acting career, Elisa also assists in counseling and supporting women struggling with eating disorders, and is a proponent of spreading awareness and recovery. She has had pieces published in the “Chicken Soup For The Soul” series of books as well as having her recovery story featured in the book “Feeding The Fame” and documented for TEEN People. Elisa has spoken about recovery on many television shows including 20/20, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and most recently on Dr. Drew’s Headline News.

Originally from Northport, Long Island, Elisa grew up studying acting and photography, as well as riding horses competitively. She graduated from Eugene Lang College at The New School University in NYC, where she studied dramatic literature, acting and writing. Her most important job to date however, is being mom to her 2 year old daughter, Scarlett Avery Bigelow. Elisa lives in San Francisco with her daughter and her husband, Charlie Bigelow.
